There is something wrong in this country when 295 armed forces veterans committed suicide last year; this is almost as many persons who were killed in the Afghanistan War last year. If we look at vets who are retired from duty due to injury, 22 of them commit suicide each day. This speaks volumes in how our veterans are treated by this country when they have served it without question. Some wait up to five years to receive treatment, while others are doped up on pills and sent back into battle; some having returned up to five times. Let’s think about this as we move forward and commit more troops to be placed in harm’s way for no good reason other than to bolster egos and Halliburton’s or other economic giants’ pockets!
