There is still Nakhweh (mannerism?) in LEB. As we were driving - TopicsExpress

There is still Nakhweh (mannerism?) in LEB. As we were driving from Beirut back to Bikfaya, my wifes nephew ace driver, Ziad, picked up his little daughter from school in Mansourieh & then decided to eat Shawarma. The place being small, had only 3 or 4 tables, but were all occupied, so we settled to sit on the hi stools. Ziad helped his daughter up the stool. But just then, 2 beautiful young ladies motioned to us to take their place & they would take ours. Naturally, we declined & thanked them 4 their generous offer. Then I said to Ziad, wow, there is still nakhweh in LEB, which was heard by all in that tiny place. They all laughed. Then one of the young ladies said that her friend who offered the table, was not from LEB!! hh I said but she is speaking Lebanese! Then I went over & asked her. She told me she is Lebanese but on a visit from Singapore where she lives with her parents on some kind of work mission. I exclaimed, SINGAPORE, What on earth r u doing there?? So she told me. I told her it was so nice of u to make the offer, u r one of a kind--very few ppl do this, even in the West. Within a minute, they hurriedly finished their sandwiches & we sat at the comfy table. I told Ziad that I shouldve invited the girls for coffee, fruit & ice cream at our house! But it was too late as they drove off! Thank God for well-mannered people (with nakhweh) in this day & age!
