There is this recent call for funds to upgrade Ibusa High court by our beloved brother Kwasa. While I stand to be corrected, I am confused on how this will work. I am in full support of community efforts to grow our communities, but it gave me a pause when I read this request for 6.2 million for the fencing and general upgrade of the Ibusa High Court. The report by Kwasa praised the Ibusa member of DSHA Mrs Ajuduah for locating the court in Ibusa. During the process of deciding on this location of a high court in ibusa and making the necessary appointments, what plans did the state and our representative have for initial funding of the court? There is another case of of locating things that come to mind. So many years ago, some smart idea to locate a Federal Government college in Ibusa was formed, and one of the oldest post primary institutions in nigeria was made defunct because of this school. Yeah, smart idea it was. After spending this amount of money to build a new court building, who owns this building? Finally, while i respect the fact that some jobs will be created in upgrading the building,i would be more comfortable if such funds are spent on a building totally owned by the community. The state should upgrade the courts, just as I am sure the courts in Warri have been upgraded and did not need community funds for fencing. We should fight for our rights and not give up everything. Part of community effort should be to learn to use our resource to fight for our rights. If Ibusa deserves a court, please the state should be made to fund it.
