There may be those who ask... If these enlightened sages, hermits, spiritualists and others know the mental attitude and the approach to consciousness that are required for one to experience extremely blissful realities, how come they dont live lives, or are in situations, conditions and circumstances that reflect that knowledge?..how come their lives are not dramatically different from those who are not enlightened? I mean..notwithstanding what they preach, and what they claim or appear to be experts and authorities in, they nevertheless get old, sick, wither away and die just like everyone else!!! After extensive periods of profound thinking using information taken from all over, I have come to conclude that enlightenment simply means that one knows..or is enlightened to the fact..that one experiences that which one unconsciously expects to experience. However, mere enlightenment doesnt guarantee anything..for as long as one remains in the grips of the conventional wisdom..as long as one continues to allow ones awareness to be influenced by the lies that are propagated by the conventional world..one shall continue to experience the reality that one had been conditioned to expect to experience. So perhaps these enlightened people are unable to apply..or fully apply..that which they know. Either that or they are not thoroughly convinced that they are actually on the right path. I think it was Jesus who said; Dont do as I do..but rather, do as I tell you to do. So forget about why these guys seem to be no different from so many other people and listen to what they say... Then try to apply the knowledge gleaned. The people who are capable of creating at will that which they experience are relatively few..and unheard of. The only things that exist are thoughts.
