There seems to be a lot of anger, frustration and hatred about at the moment. As were approaching the Christmas Season Ive just jotted down a few personal thoughts on religion and politics. 1. Religion, I dont give a shit what your religion is - really! The two things I look for (concerning religion) are, a) do you have that faith, or does the faith have you? If your faith has you - your faith does your thinking for you! I would rather talk to YOU, not your faith. b) are you an arsehole or a good bloke/Sheila? If youre an arsehole, your religion is irrelevant! If youre a good bloke/Sheila your religion is irrelevant 2. Politics, Much of the above seems to apply to politics as well. My Dad would often say, Left wing and right wing are two wings on the same bird ... I personally dont subscribe to the bullshit from the Right, any more than I subscribe to the bullshit from the left. The reality is that our politics really are representational and made up of fellow Australians. That means not everyone thinks like me, dont worry, Ill get over it. I dont really give a shit about your politics, we are all free to choose for ourselves! Its how we handle our differences between us what matters most. Im more interested in what sort of a bloke/Sheila you are. If youre an arsehole, your politics are irrelevant. If youre a good bloke/Sheila your politics are irrelevant ... Lets put the bullshit aside and, for a couple of weeks at least, enjoy each-other and the differences that make up our wonderful home.
