There seems to be a lot of controversy about Columbus Day. Everything that Im reading questions who actually did discover America. Historians can not definitively say who did, but they do know Columbus did come here, whether by accident or not, and did change the course of history. Some of the things that were done were horrible, but it was indigenous of the times. Any historian can understand that. A lot of terrible things have occurred throughout history. There was civilization when Columbus arrived, but it may not have evolved the way it did had he not landed here. Theres a lot of history that isnt totally accurate, but he did contribute to it, and until they can say without a doubt that Columbus did squat on his voyage, Im celebrating Columbus Day and proudly. :)
