There seems to be a victorious streak in Polk County! Christie Bassett of Highlands Grove Elementary School won Florida’s 2015 Teacher of the Year. To be a teacher requires dedication, patience, knowledge, and responsibility; Bassett exemplifies all of these skills. She teaches a creative subject in a very unique way, and deserves this prestigious award. Her accomplishment is the perfect example of why teaching without large government agency regulations leads to student, and teacher, success. Polk County is proud of you, Miss.
