There seems to be some confusion regarding what might be confusing - TopicsExpress

There seems to be some confusion regarding what might be confusing about the roads of Long Island in Nassau County... This might clear things up: Hicksville Road - which begins at Merrick Road in Massapequa and never actually reaches Hicksville... is also known as 107. It crosses Jerusalem Avenue (105) in north Massapequa. It crosses Hempstead Turnpike, merges with Wantagh Avenue in Bethpage, and the two become South Broadway, which is still called 107. Gardiners Avenue crosses Hempstead Turnpike and becomes another, completely different Jerusalem Avenue - now running north and south. South Broadway, the second Jerusalem Avenue and Newbridge Road (106) all merge in Hicksville and become North Broadway - but it is still called 107. North Broadway crosses Jericho Turnpike and splits into Cedar Swamp Road, now 107, which culminates in GlenCove, and Jericho Oyster Bay Road, which becomes Pine Hollow Road, which becomes South Street- all still 106 - till it eventually empties into Oyster Bay Harbor and with a little luck and a good current, eventually reaches Connecticut and becomes Courtland Avenue in Stamford... better known as... 106.
