There still are some significant differences between Nazi Germany - TopicsExpress

There still are some significant differences between Nazi Germany and the USA. In Germany, the people embraced an ideology but received a killing machine. In the USA, the people have embraced a killing machine that caters to all ideologies. In Germany, dissent was for the most part motivated by ethics and concern for others. In the USA, it seems, dissent is for the most part motivated by desire, narcissism and the sense of being entitled to more, all of which are inevitable reactions in a purely transnational system that by design promotes the cult of individualism. In Germany, the expression of dissent was a capital offence, so instead of speaking out, conscientious objectors quietly acted on their convictions and worked to save lives while remaining silent. In America dissenters are for the most part treated like friends who have made bad fashion choices, yet instead of acting to ameliorate the effect of their national killing machine, such resistance that does exist rarely manifests as anything more than fireside chats with the neighbors. Of course the USA has television to drug people into a stupor so there is little dissent to deal with. The Nazis, on the other hand, only had their elaborate system of secret police, informers and concentration camps to suppress dissent. To those in America who find these distinctions between the US and Nazi Germany unfair, dont worry, your government is working hard to eliminate even these differences.
