There still may be some people whove never heard about Shabazz Palaces, then heres another great intro to the music of the Seattle-based duo of Ishmael Butler and Tendai Maraire. The short film is a mashed and condensed sampler from their entire Sub Pop album, Black Up, not just a music video for one song. It was directed by Kahil Joseph. Its the time of year for Best of 2011 lists and dont be surprised to see this album included often. Fun factoid: Ishmael was a member of the Grammy winning hip-hop group Digable Planets.
