There was a Celebration of Progress at Preservation House - TopicsExpress

There was a Celebration of Progress at Preservation House yesterday in Akron. Congratulations to Preservation Alliance of Greater Akron (PAGA) in the exterior restoration and interior rehabilitation of the historic school on W. Market Street. John Miller, PAGA Board President, served as the Master of Ceremonies introducing the speakers who included City of Akron Mayor Don Plusquellic, Frank Quinn of Heritage Ohio along with Diane and Hayes Orender, the fundraising chair and Preservation House Chair. Hats off to Diane and Hayes for their dedication and enthusiasm gathering support and volunteers to complete this labor of love. Also recognized were Summit County Executive Russ Pry, a PAGA Board member, and Mr. Parker whose father attended the school. Mr. Parker donated the original teacher school bell to PAGA this week after seeing an article about their preservation achievement in the Akron Beacon Journal.
