There was a statistically significant increase in net migration - TopicsExpress

There was a statistically significant increase in net migration into the UK in the year to March, from 175,000 to 243,000, the ONS has said. We believe the only just and long-term solution to migration pressures is to address underlying causes in the countries of origin, such as poverty, lack of or over-exploitation of resources, climate change and conflict. For countries such as the UK, which have an ecologicial footprint larger than their carrying capacity, we advocate balanced migration. This would still allow substantial movements in both directions for family, economic and other reasons. populationmatters.org/solutions/sustainable-population/sustainable-migration/
