There was a time in America that a 13 year old boy would of been found right beside his father or by himself with a rifle helping put food on the table. In more recent history a 13 year old boy could be found running around the neighborhood with a bunch of friends playing safe healthy and appropriate games such as cops and robbers cowboys and Indians or army. Now we have boys suspended and expelled for pop tarts and post it notes that barely resemble the shape of a gun. We have boys expelled from school for playing with air soft guns on their own personal property. Now this boy shot by officers who severely over reacted out of a fear that has been forced into America. The officers may of had what they felt was a legitimate fear for their lives but it is my opinion that the officers would not of feared anything if they were faced with the same situation even 5-10 ago. The problem is not how a 13 year old boy is wired has changed over time. The problem is not how a firearm functions or advances in firearm technology has changed over time. The problem is the shift in American culture away from its core Judeo-Christian values.
