There was a time when I wouldve let someones comments or insults to my music ability or merits get to me, but nowadays I could really care less. I just cant help but laugh when people who have absolutely no drive whatsoever are the first to antagonize me for either what kind of music Im playing, or writing, or what I look like when Im performing, etc. I have been called everything from arrogant to egotistical to condescending, but ultimately none of thats true because Im pretty indifferent about it. If you give me your advice, Im going to say one thing - thanks. If you ask for it, Ill offer some. My musical accomplishments may be modest but at least I always tried to amount to something - whereas those who mock me have neither tried nor succeeded. Playing music with people is to be part of a community. If you want to be part of that community, put your ego aside and put those harsh words to bed - all theyre doing is tarnishing your own rep.
