There was a time when hating Jews and putting them in ovens was in fashion. For the last 500 years most of the world had one attitude to us Africans. But the world, it was hoped, realized that it was less about Jews in Ovens and about the hatred and intolerance that lead to them ending up in ovens in the first place. It was less about African in America deserving the right to vote and more about Humans in America deserving the right to vote (and there is a profound difference. It is natural to fear what you do not know and those you do not understand, it is a base animal instinct. Everything makes ignorant people afraid, even their own shadow. The solution is conscious empowerment.
