There was an usually large number of homeless people around our church tonight. (Our church is in an old Walmart building in the part of town that has the highest crime rate.) Took my girls to Teen MOPS with me (ages 4 & 7), because they are loving servants. They helped care for the babies in the nursery, playing with them and singing to them. I chatted with other volunteers, who come from all parts of town to love on teen moms and their kids. Dinner was brought by an awesome foster/adoptive mom who was feeding a baby as I got dinner from her car. I told the young moms about Jesus and heaven, because there are so many crazy things happening in this world, and they needed that reminder. An amazing therapist from the childrens hospital gave PRIDE training, to show the moms how to positively spend time for their kids, in order to help with behavior problems. Saw the young moms walk out with diapers, clothes, baby food, toys, a bouncy chair, a high chair, and so much more. Got to hug on a young woman whose best friend recently died. Got to hear whats going on in the lives of young women who are doing their best as moms. As I rode home with a full heart I realized that whats a typical Thursday night for me isnt typical for everyone, and I needed to share it. When we allow Gods love to fill us, and allow it to overflow and pour out to others, lives are forever changed. Starting with our own.
