There we go again, South Africa! Yesterday I was merely chuckling - TopicsExpress

There we go again, South Africa! Yesterday I was merely chuckling when I suggested that we send a strong delegation to FIFA to blackmail Sepp Blatter into pulling some magic for us to get us into Brazil. Today we learn that Ethiopia fielded an "ineligible" player in their game against who, Botswana? You know what that means, right? Sepp Blatter and his FIFA henchmen will be sitting around the table to decide the fate of the Ethiopians and voila, Bafana Bafana will be catching the plane to Brazil. I think we are good at this. No, I mean we are lucky. Or are we cursed? We have moved from being the envy of Africa, politically and football-wise, within the space of 17 years, to being the bullies and snatcher of dreams. Even in our townships we have been unleashing mayhem and chasing away the Ethiopians and other African fellows. And we have the gall to call that "xenophobic attacks." I say it is not xenophobic attacks untill we chase the white foreigners as well. After all, what is xenophobia? Anyway. The likes of Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana and Egypt still feel that they deserved to be the inaugural hosts of the world cup, in 2010, or earlier, or later. What if we are already being suspected of having foiled the revolution on the Libyan soil just so that we could host the AFCON 2013? We know that the Ethiopians snatched an all important draw against Bafana Bafana here on home soil, and they proceeded to beat us after coming from behind in Addis Ababa. I know, Ethiopia scored one goal, and Bernard Parker scored two, yet we are the ones who lost. It is bizarre. And here we are, digging up the skeletons of the Ethiopia game against Botswana. Why did Botswana not bring this up for the sake of their own progress in the qualifiers?
