There were so many rewarding aspects of this mornings BoMF race. I - TopicsExpress

There were so many rewarding aspects of this mornings BoMF race. I feel incredibly proud to be part of an organization that truly inspires and empowers people from their most challenging and hopeless moments of life to gain faith and belief in themselves and all the possibilities that lie in front if them through the discipline of running, everyday, moving forward. What impacted me the most today was watching my dear friend Scott Crossin, who I grew up with, make his mark in this world in such a profound way. He left an extremely prestigious corporate job almost a year ago, because he strongly felt that he needed to make impact in this world in a very different way, as the Executive Director of BoMF. As he cheered, hugged and high-fived every person crossing the finish line (including me) it became clear to me that THAT is what TRUE LEADERSHIP is all about. Cheering, encouraging and inspiring, especially when someone thinks there is no hope and ready to give up--compassionate leadership is what makes people rise. Not demeaning, demanding, belittling leadership styles, which only gets the opposite effect, but lifting people up from a place of love and support. If I could vote right now for a business leader of the year, it would be Scott. With the hopes that all of this dysfunctional leadership that still exists in our society, that breaks peoples spirits and hopes, is eradicated so that we can truly inspire people to reach their human potential in a way the really works.
