There were some things overheard or seen on blogs about me from the 2011 election. ONE- She doesnt have a lot of money, but she has a lot of heart. And that pretty much sums me up. Im a teacher- not a wealthy business person or president of a company. Ive worked hard to do something I love, which is to educate others. Perhaps it does not pay a lot, but sometimes its just not about the money and materialistic things. Its about doing the right thing and following your heart. SECOND, The only genuine candidate is Erica (to which some blogger responded being genuine doesnt necessarily make you a good candidate). First of all, both comment ONE & TWO were meant as insults but I find them quite complimentary. I also find the anonymous bloggers comment troublesome, because voters are either no longer showing up to the polls because they cant find anyone like them or they cant find anyone even like-able. Voters are simply settling on candidates or just not voting, because candidates are simply out of touch with the voters- the very people who matter the most. Its not about big money, the biggest signs, the best house, the best part of town, the best clothes, the businesses who endorse a candidate- its about how accessible the candidate is for the voter. Someone once said Follow the money; I bet the big campaign contributors/contributions will somehow slither back to the big developments around town. Watch the campaign spending and contributions closely this election, candidates will be spending thousands for a job that pays $700 a month. One must ask oneself, why do people have to spend so much for such a nominal check? I want to get more people involved on big issues. Expand notification radius, get neighborhood input for projects, consider elections for community input for major projects. We need to remember the voters matter, not the developers.
