There were two boys. Both lived in a village but one was a thief and made himself look rich while the other was meek and honest but looked poor. The thief was also very popular because no one knew he was a thief and he spent his days playing and showing off. He said One day I will be King ! The other boy who was not very fancy and had to work hard to help his family didnt really want to be king he just liked to help others so he did. He went around the village lending a hand where he could building houses and feeding the hungry with whatever he could give them from the little he had. One day an old man came to the village and said I have been traveling such a long way and I have no money can anyone help me just get food to eat and water to drink? The thief said no! I will be king one day and I will make sure beggers like you stay away from my people. His friends laughed as he mocked the old man and they walked away. The poor looking boy was on his way home from the market with just one loaf of bread and a bottle of milk. He saw the old man and said with a smile hello sir do you need help? The old man said I wouldnt want to ask from you,you are poor. The boy said yes but I have something and you have nothing, here take my portion but leave enough for my family. So he did. The old man thank the boy and walked off into the crowded street. Some years later the two boys were now men the thief now a powerful man with money and influence the other a farmer who uses a portion of his crops to feed the needy. The boy who was a farmer is struggling because a drought has allowed most of his crops to die and his family has just enough food to survive. So one day a man in fine robes comes to the village and asked for the two most well known men. The two boys were selected and sent to the kings castle upon request. They arrive and find the king on his death bed and the king said I am the old man that asked you for help when you were just boys and now you are the most well known men in the village. I have no sons and seek someone to be king. The rich man jumped up and said surely it is me I am rich and powerful the kings replied you fool, you are selfish,dishonest and greedy. You will steal from the people to fill your own greed and destroy the kingdom. The other boy said Im just a farmer and I dont have much to offer the king said you have fed the hungry and clothed the poor you have protected the weak and remained humble, you are a king.
