There will be a memorial service of my late mother at the Buddhist - TopicsExpress

There will be a memorial service of my late mother at the Buddhist temple next year. Although I do not want to be a chief mourner of this event, there will be no way for me to avoid. Strictly speaking, my late mother, a famous childrens story writer in Japan, was not a Buddhist but a seeker of Catholic Christian faith in her lifetime (but unable to become a Christian due to the opposition from her parents, and attended Kanzo Uchimuras Bible study group as an alternative), my late mothers ashes was placed on the Buddhist temple against the wishes of my late parents due to the will of my grandfather on my mothers side. It is a wish my step-mother and aunt who eagerly wish the ashes of my late mother to be with those of my late father at the Fuji Cemetery. According the decision of the chief priest of the Buddhist temple, the priests at the temple will return the half of my late mothers ashes right after the 23rd anniversary (after her death) memorial service of my late mother. Please pray that I will not worship the soul of my late mother but worship God in the Bible only, then show a certain respect to the memory of my late mother by means of decorating a flower in front of her picture or something, such as mother’s children’s book, during her memorial service. Please pray that I will show maximum respect to the priests of the temple without worshiping the souls of the dead at the memorial service of my late mother. There is no choice but to pay a certain amount of money to the Buddhist temple for this memorial service and permanent consolation of my family grave when my family resigns the membership from this temple. However, I would like to pray that I will always focus on God in the Bible in the process of the involvement in the non-Christian form of ancestral veneration, thank you!
