There will be no new photographs of problem issues in Idaho Falls this weekend. Instead I would like us to focus on where we want to be on the 5th of November. Post Registers’ 10/04/2013 CHEERS & JEERS Section jeered the local Republican Party for their questionnaire to the candidates. The Post Registers’ questions were fair but didn’t go far enough. A cheer was given to Mayoral Candidates Rebecca Casper and Sharon Parry for their attendance at the CommUNITY Fest last weekend. The cheer continued stating how they are the only real candidates in this election and how the men are just names on the ballot. If the measures of a candidate are huge billboards, free giveaways and 24/7 accessibility, the Post Register may be right. However if you believe that someone working a full-time job and interacting with people on a personal level, listening to citizen concerns with empathy, focusing on the issues facing all citizens regardless of their party affiliation and looking out for your best interests makes for a great mayor, then I am your candidate. October 15th will be the first date in this election cycle when you will be able to follow the candidates’ money. Are you looking for business as usual or a change for the better? If you are satisfied with the status quo, sit at home and watch the election unfold. But if you are ready for positive change, I need your help over the next five weeks to make that change happen on Election Day? Money really helps, but there is no way we can match dollars with the other campaigns. Your time makes a big difference as we need volunteers who are willing to go door to door and educate voters.
