Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; (Acts 6:3). We all know that deacons were to be selected not elected to put an end to d grumbling in d church of those who claimed to be neglected. But instruction were given by d Apostles to look for brethren with d above spiritual qualifications who will step into d office. Today in our churches we have substituted d spiritual for carnal qualifications. Rather than using those criteria used by d Apostles, we are now seeking out for brethren who have money, properties, cars influence, affluence etc. Those who do not have all these but have spiritual qualifications are not selected to be incharge of Gods work. Hence we see all these maladies going on in our churches. Church conflict, mismanagement & carnality are d order of d day. How are we selecting our leaders in d church? If proper way is not followed, chaotic situation is inevitable.
