And so it lowers the threshold for taking operations because it feels easy, theres a danger in that... “And then the other part is theres a perception of arrogance, there is a perception of helpless people in an area being shot at like thunderbolts from the sky by an entity that is acting as though they have omniscience and omnipotence, — and you can create a tremendous amount of resentment inside populations, even not the people that are themselves being targeted, but around, because of the way it appears and feels.” That quote is from General Stanley McChrystal, the retired US general who commanded NATO troops in Afghanistan from June 2009 to June 2010, warning that as the Middle Eastern nation sits on the brink of civil war and that western forces must contend with widespread resentment about the U.S. drone program. (I think its fair to say that rational people could logically discern that this but another of a seemingly endless list of dire warnings about how insane it would be for the U.S. to continue a drone war in which lethal flying killing machines slaughter countless innocent victims, and that the relatives of these hapless innocents will not end up being our loyal Friends. — What does this say about those in our government who will nevertheless continue this insanity? Nothing *Good* thats for sure.)
