Theres a growing conversation about open-carry and concealed-carry firearm laws, and various businesses asking their customers not to bring guns into their stores. Honestly, I think firearm owners should be smart. I own a handgun, and I think its a great idea to carry it concealed under clothes for self defense and protection against the crazy crap that goes on in this modern world. I think more people should do the same, and have more criminals wonder about who may or may not be armed against attack. But heres the smart part: How about firearm owners stop thinking its a good idea to open-carry either a handgun or rifle strapped over their shoulder? If people dont see your gun and you whip it out in a bad situation, youre a hero. But open-carrying just to wave your rights flag in public places makes you something else...a dork. Even pro-gun people dont wanna see guns in Walmart or the mall. Hide it. Tuck it. Keep it in a purse or pocket. If a bad guy pops up, shoot him dead. But stop insisting on carrying guns like youre a friggin cop, marine or cowboy. It doesnt help in our fight against leftist a-holes who want to take away our guns.
