Theres a lot of stuff circulating right now to respond to. From critiques of Grammy performances to essays about the terrible choice to become a Mother, there is a lot of woman bashing going on. I feel like I can respond to it all at once: Im not interested. Im not interested if someone or even huge groups of someones thinks an artist is a whore. Im disinterested in what you think is an appropriate and correct way for all women to behave and act. I wont accept any rules you hand me and so I dont support them forced upon others. The most effective way to shine is carrying light, not frantically attempting to snuff out others. There is room for everyone at the table here. Your womanhood is yours. Our diversity is rich, not shameful. You cant really snuff anyone out anyway... so shine instead. If it looks different than mine, I promise to still enjoy the glow.
