Theres a remarkable, impressive and quite moving installation here at the Tower of London in commemoration of the centenary of WWI called Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red, consisting of 888,654 ceramic poppies representing each British life lost in the 1914-18 conflict. Crowds have been so large leading up to the last days of the exhibition (which will be de-installed after Armistice Day, November 11) that lighting has been extended to the hours between 4:30 am and midnight. The poppies have been sold for £25 each, raising £11.2 for six different Service charities.
