Theres actually a chance that we could have a constitutional - TopicsExpress

Theres actually a chance that we could have a constitutional convention here in the US and I know that many are calling for one in the UK (lobbied for by some pro-secession of Scotland, or covering different rights). Thats a trip, to think that the whole UK is considering a process to meet about the constitution -- well it is quite challenging but exciting. some people think its a far cry to get to that here and probably we wont have it but at least 18 states have expressed some opinion over 500 cities and the US body of mayors have all expressed opinion along with hundreds of elected representatives on state and national levels, Congress (& the President actually voiced support) all have said that we need a constitutional amendment. They could also just ratify without a Con-Con but explaining the process is too boring. How we get there I dont know, but I feel I will see some change in governance, a major restructuring of politics in my lifetime. Btw, the newly completed documentary film called Pay2Play will be shown on Jan 15, in Kane Hall 110 at University of Washington. Free event: 7:00 PM screening & public financing advocate will lead discussion afterward.
