Theres all this talk about What should I wear on a big trip, what kind of bike should I take, how can I update my homepage on the road....??? Well, this is me after 6 months and 8,000 miles in Beijing after crossing Russia and Mongolia from England. Pretty basic, eh? The bike was 120 GBP (pounds) off the rack in a bike store, clothes I bought on the way (Russian combat trousers and army boots from a Siberian market), Ortlieb panniers and Brooks saddle essential (the most expensive), Vango tent from supermarket, Map torn from pages of old atlas, Notebook? Paper journal (pencils essential as ballpoints freeze in Gobi Desert)! :-) Moral of all this: Just get on your bike, set off, and have fun. The rest can be made up while on the road. ;-)
