Theres been a lot of knocking Slash this week. I dont consider him the best guitarist in the world, but hes better than me, and making a living playing guitar. He plays competent blues rock and may not know a phrygian mode from an aardvark, but theres more to playing than theory. I imagine theres a number of bedroom axe men in this group who have a go at players but never gig. Lots of people said they play better than Slash but not many posted them playing. Hmmm. More importantly, while you may be able to play Sweet Child note for note (and whats the point of that, you should put your own spin on it!), can you actually write a song that connects with that many people? Thought not. So heres me, playing Sweet Child with my band, not as well as Slash. Add your own abuse below.
