Theres been a lot of talk about HBCUs losing their purpose in the world of education, but I think this clip from Stomp The Yard visually explains why theyre still so important. This clip takes place in HERITAGE Hall. As he sees the history with which his heritage is built on and that comes from a long line of educated people, he takes some quiet time to reflect on the shoulders with which he stands on and it appears he plots his next move. Powerful! Just imagine our youth going to a school, walking the halls with the great spirits of Martin Luther King, Coretta Scott King, and so many others. HBCUs are responsible for: 75% of all Black Phds 46% of Black business execs 50% of Black engineers 80% of Black federal judges 85% of all Black doctors 50% of Black attorneys 40% of Black dentists 50% of Black pharmacists 75% of Black veterinarians (Per Clark Atlanta University)
