Theres no fun way to share this news, but the wheels on Katies - TopicsExpress

Theres no fun way to share this news, but the wheels on Katies health have flown right off! Two weeks yesterday to be exact. Its a long long story...you may or may not remember that Katie has had two kidney transplants? First one was a kidney she got from her momma when she was 8 years old and second one was generously given by her cousin Vonciel Baudouin who have Katie a kidney her senior year in college 15 years ago. Katie had severe kidney pain out of the blue on February 19th, and she went to the ER because her blood pressure was dangerously high from her normal low levels. Although the end-stage renal failure Katie is currently suffering from makes her feel beyond lousy, tired and very Ill, she also feels very safe at this point and unaffraid. God is just working on her extra seriously right now! At this point Katie is receiving hemodialysis every few days and its looking like she will almost certainly be on the kidney wait list soon and onto kidney transplant #3!! She is just happy to know a hospital board would approve a third transplant for her...it means she is a good healthy candidate long term with a lot of life yet to live!! Obviously a living donor would be best, and the family is in prayer for that miracle to manifest itself if it is meant to be. In the meantime, we humbly ask that you all please just pray your magic prayers for Katie and this very difficult, suddenly emergent situation. Katies husband Bob is doing absolutely great and is such a rock for her. He has amazing strength and has been so very brave, positive, strong and loving....nothing new! He visits the hospital often, leaves to sell a house or two and then comes back to visit more. Its just wonderful business as usual for laid back, determined Bob, rolling with it better than ever! Katies chosen hospital is UAMS in Little Rock where she will be followed for the duration...they are excellent!! So many brilliant docs (residents included), nurses, etc are handling her care. teaching settings bring out the best a lot of the time!! Katie is so grateful for all of her friends and family and again, she just knows that this entire challenge is part of Gods bigger, most perfect plan for her strong little self. She is eternally grateful for all of the good fortune that has befallen her in her short, wonderful years on this great planet, and again, she remains unafraid and very encouraged.....plus... do not worry, she still giggles about 98% of each and every day! Thank you for taking the time to care for our friend Katie, and thank you most especially for your friendship, support and prayers in the coming days and months!
