Theres no place like home. Theres no place like home. I feel like Dorothy except that Im retirning home to my emerald city. There really is no place like New Orleans either. I had an amazing, fun, wild, sober Southern Decadence. Yes you can do New Orleans and not drink, and yes, its a very different experience. I never would have met Percy Jackson and Bebop on the Bayou if I had been drunk the night before. I never would have done drag all four days and been the best host i could be at Oz. Today on the plane Im surroumded by a group of 20 something year old girls talking about being so hungover that they threw up at airport and hurting from their wild weekend. Then it dawns on me that they are all part of a bridal party Im 99% sure I posed for pictures with Saturday night in the quarter. And yes they were wasted. But thats part of being young and partying in New Orleans. No judgement... I say go for it and have fun. God knows Ive been there, done that, I was even on the poster.. Im just glad Im not that 50 year old drag queen sick, hungover and hating life, but the bright eyed gay guy smiling at the world. Oh, I changed seats and scored - hes very cute.
