Theres one thing that is certain about the referendum: if we vote YES, it will be a giant leap forward for Scottish womens liberation, whilst a NO vote will set feminist politics back years. Thus, I can only assume that is due to her total ignorance about what is actually going on in Scotland, that the respected historian and feminist Mary Beard has chosen to put her signature to a single-paragraph letter urging Scots to vote NO. This could be an opportunity for feminists involved in the YES campaign to reach out and engage with Professor Beard and get a retraction. What do you think Anna Mcfarlane?
