Theres so much I could say about this. Just FYI, the starting salary for teachers in South Carolina is around $30,000 give or take a few thousand depending on the district. Most of us dont teach because we want to make a lot of money. Thats not why we do it. Theres not a single teacher that I know that wont go out of his or her way to make sure that their classroom is fully stocked with what their students will need. And ps, if your childs teacher has specified that some supplies will be used as community items, please know he or she has a reason. Its because he or she has been teaching long enough to know that some battles can be avoided. Specifically disagreements between students over pencils, etc. Instructional time is crucial. -{stepping off my soapbox now}
