Theres two kinds of salons you visit. One is commission and usually a big advertiser in your community, and the other is booth rental, for a self-employed stylist- whos not afraid to toot their own horn! So, whats the difference? A commission stylist, clocks in and clocks out and works for a 50/50 cut. (Most of the time) A booth renter pays all their own advertising and taxes and a weekly rate to own their chair. Is one better than the other, no, but one gets free education and a traffic flow coming in and out of the salon. The other has to have a strong clientele and a big mouth!
