These are some transparent cut-away style renderings done in 3DS Max, showing some details about the concept bird. Electric propulsion via a 380 HP Tesla motor, wing spar location, how the landing gear folds down and backwards and back up again into the tail section below the motor. This is a rudderless plane, like a flying wing with a canard up front. The rudders or Yaw axis is effected by clam-shell style spoilerrettes that deploy out via rudder control for the direction you wish to go. For instance, left rudder will deploy the left wing spoilerrettes. This aircraft also features flaps, so the rudder spoilerrettes would only be operable with rudder input. This keeps controls pure. Batteries would be via cases about the size of thin, wide briefcases that would carry the Tesla style Panasonic batteries. These would be in the wings and rear area in the fuselage, air cooled. The wings are meant to be laminar airflow, high speed wings, like a racing glider would have, enabling the bird to have extremely good performance in a trip with low power setting, as well as being able to glide down from altitudes with very little power and good glide ratio performance. Note that the plane is far from done. I just did this to show the layout of the interior, landing gear, motor, instrument panel, etc.
