These are the days of accumulating hasanah. Be consistent in offering your obligatory prayers on time and try not to miss the highly encouraged voluntary prayers associated with them. Try to establish the practice of reciting morning and evening supplications. Learn from the birds! They never miss a day. Every day 15 mins after Fajr prayer and 15 mins before Maghraib their chirping begins. Doing dhikr in their own way. Try not to let a day pass without opening the Quran and reading at least a few pages. If you do not understand Arabic, read a few pages in a language you are fully conversant with. If you are fluent in Arabic, try to gradually work up to reading one thirtieth of the Book each day of the month. Memorize! Memorize the Surahs that the Prophet sallAllahu `aalyhi wa sallam used to recite in specific prayers. Study and learn the tafseer of any Surah that you already know. Fast! Fast as much as you can. Fast on Mondays and Thursdays, 9th and 10 of #Muharram, and the three middle days of the month. At least in this month we can catch up Tahajhud and talk to Allah in secret. Pouring out our deepest worries and sorrows. These are all tried and tested ways of cultivating a deeper relationship with Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala. Pick any one of them and make a start. May this be a beginning to a hasanah filled life. May He accept it from you and us, aameen.
