These control freaks function at a level of corruption and bitterness that is so engrained in their character, there can never be a time when the peoples lives and freedom arent in danger while they are in power. Make no mistake, the control freaks running Canada and the US are no different, and they would do the very same thing if seriously challenged or felt their power was being truly challenged. The people of countries like Turkey are not so complacent and obedient, so the government rules with an iron fist to keep them suppressed, whereas here in Canada our government need not worry about the docile masses that never rise to challenge their power. We are now the mirror image of the Roman people at the height of the Empire, fattened up, massively indebted, and too fearful of our oppressors to take a stand. Now, just as then, it is the wealth confiscated from the masses by these vipers that allowed the massive growth of the State and its enforcers. While the powers that be were steadily building influence, power structures, and mountains of laws to dictate our lives, they placated us with bread and circuses to distract us while doing so. Will humanity ever learn. I say yes, but I fear it will not be until another Historical event takes place that will once again result in widespread suffering, death and destruction. That is the price we pay for ignoring the warning signs of History, and why it appears we are doomed to repeat the mistakes made by those long gone. There is nothing more frustrating to the man or woman who is keenly aware of this, watching as it unfolds, for it is like some horrendous nightmare of which we can never awake. And while we scream and flail our arms about trying to gather the attention of the slumbering masses, our actions are met with indifference, they are ignored or tossed aside with disdain for even trying to dampen blissful ignorance. Oh what a tangled web we weave.
