These days i have trouble looking into my 2-minute-friend-at-the-traffic-light, Phulwas eyes when we have our 2-minute exchanges. She has stopped asking me to look for a job for her . Its almost as if she pities me my situation of not being able to find one ...or so i feel. Phulwa is a big-built 30-35 year old member of the transgender community. She thinks of herself as a woman. At present she walks her beat around traffic points in Dwarka. Half the money she collects, goes to her parents in Kolkata. Ive looked into possibilities as a lady-guard at stores and schools and a cook in smaller restaurants. At present im trying to get her as a house-maid/ woman-friday for my home, but have run into road-blocks with the Society office. Thats work in progress. In the interim, ill be grateful if anyone here can help/ advice etc. Obviously, Ill go with her for police verification and all such formalities as and when required.
