These days its Backdraughts that largely kill fire-fighters. Watch for the high pressure gases pulsating out of any opening. Use your door drill and get down, crack it open against your boot and have the nozzle/branch ready on 30 degree spray at a safe angle from the door so that any gas burns away from you. Use in pencil bursts into the high pressure gas and keep control of the door until you can safety enter. Get it wrong and this happens: -
