These following comments are not for everyone but only those who understand and are not meant in any derogatory way. In the 60s in some areas of Pentecost organizational politics became so heavy handed and intrusive to the local church there were a few men who contended for NT church government they were heroes who risked everything but stood for the Sovereign Church. Many now are sleeping in the grave the others are up in age I would like to give thanks to them today. Thanks to Elder M. E. Burr for his articles on NT church government that caused a revolution. For the two young pastors then who hosted the meeting in Baker that changed Pentecost forever Elder B. A. Spell & Ray Majors. Men who placed their ministries on the line Elders Carl Ballestero, A. L. Obrien, R. C. Cavaness, C. W. Shew, Paul Jordan, C. M. Duplissey, H. B. Morgan, Jimmy Davis, Donald Haymon, Verbal Bean, Cranford, B. W. Adams and others. The majority of Pentecost has no idea the impact these men had on every Pentecostal church in the nation. Pentecost changed forever for the good. They will go down as only a footnote in some Pentecost history but their contribution is a mark which can never be taken away. Again thanks to their memory and labor.
