These marches and riots have no depth. Dr. John Henrik Clarke pointed out that marches never helped to change anything. They are just ceremonial. If you want to change things, the power is in your votes and your money. If you cant organize and resolve not to elect the same officials during the next voting cycle, your cause was fleeting. If you cant resolve to spend your money outside of the districts with the issues, you arent committed. Local government workers get paid through local government. Affecting their paychecks is THE way to get their attention. The energy of marching should be focused toward organizing. An effective plan for change needs to be developed, executed, followed through, and constantly assessed for effectiveness. If you cant do that, youre wasting your time.
