These new procedures are due to effect all blue light driving we understand. A level 1 course allows you to drive a blue light vehicle but not to use the lights. Any volunteer who wishes to drive a CG vehicle will have this course. A level 2 course allows you to turn on the lights but obey all traffic laws including red lights, speeding, parking, etc. It is intended a number from each CG station will be brought to level 2 over time. Level 3 is current blue light driving practice including red lights, etc - unlikely any volunteer organisation such as mountain rescue or ourselves will move to this level. Current CG procedures do not permit driving outside of the traffic laws anyway. Not sure of the roll out time frame?
