These radical anti-immigration demonstrators are gently reminded that their arguments completely forget their own history. The moral of the story, and this is not just for those who desire stricter immigration laws; Moral outrage comes from the gut, and often forgets inconvenient facts about your own history because it is always easiest to see the faults of the world laid upon the other guy. The issues regarding immigration are complex, and simply cannot be turned into a we were here first argument, because the argument itself fails throughout the world. What makes you a member of a nation is not a matter of descent, but of integration. Just because your great-great whatever invaded a land in the distant past does not make you a member of society, it is your contributions to the growth of the society... and that does not depend upon where you or your parents or your ancestors were born. So, if you choose to argue a point, is it over a gut feeling of is it because you have considered the moral implications of your standpoint?
