They All Drowned in the midst of all this my friend Skinner - TopicsExpress

They All Drowned in the midst of all this my friend Skinner arrived in Colorado for what he called "a long rest & some serious fishing." he had been on the road for six or eight weeks in places like Tripoli, Tunis & Cairo, and the experience had made him bitter. "the Arabs are different from us," he said. "they are evil." he spent a week in our guest room & went fishing every morning with a 12-gauge shotgun, from one trout-pond to another, & whenever he saw a big fish near the surface he would blast it with the shotgun & then scoop it up with the net, before the shock wore off. on some mornings he would bring back five or six big trout for breakfast--&there was rarely any problem with the bones, which had been turned into mush by the blast. we ate them like eggs, with black pepper & jalapeño sauce.
