~ They Sting ~ A visitor to my front door, recently, pointed out the coming and going of hornets, making a nest under the sill of the door. Not wishing anyone to be stung, I used the end of a hornet spray from an earlier issue with them elsewhere. Soon, I noticed that there was continued activity under the sill. I bought another can of spray, waited for nightfall, and sprayed around the suspected opening. After a few days, the hornets were still coming and going, seemingly happy in their chosen home. I will try again, with a more diligent effort at defeating them – we’ll see how that works out … When thinking about this, I realized that this is like the war against evil-doers in this world. Our efforts do not seem to be successful, for when one or a hundred are uprooted, there return a thousand, for the enemy of our souls seems to have a great supply of servants of evil. In all of history, evil-doers have not been removed from our world, no matter how great the effort, for evil is a work of Satan, the enemy of our souls, and the enemy of God. IS IT a fool’s errand to try to eradicate or neutralize evil-doers? No, it is not, for they will proliferate if given the chance; but only the intervention of God will destroy them once-and-for-all with His return with all His angels with Him; for until then, the evil one has his day of deception. Keep the faith, be strong and encouraged; for the Lord is Faithful and True, and His reward is for you, His people; and His retribution is for the enemy and all the servants of darkness – their day of judgment is coming, and it will not be ‘pretty.’ ~ N.
