They and so many of us have left the love they used to have. We have moved away from Jesus. IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE FOR AN ENTIRE CHURCH THAT HAD A GLORIOUS BEGINNING TO BACKSLIDE FROM HAVING INTIMACY AND PASSION. THE CHURCH IS SIMPLY GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS, DOING GOOD THINGS, FILLED WITH GOOD PEOPLE BUT NO PASSION SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY HAVE DISTANCED THEMSELVES FROM GOD. WE NEED TO FALL BACK TO SPRING AHEAD When a new church starts there is usually little money and little comforts but the energy, and the passion while worshipping is so evident. The excitement is so evident. There is an awareness of God and a desire to hear from God. As we mature as a church we become more aware of the budgets, the bank accounts and the building. We become boxed into a structure. Instead of majoring on God we are majoring on a structure. Its only when we focus on Jesus that we can walk on water, we can walk above our circumstances. Solution l. Remember from where you have fallen. Remember what you used to do when it came to God. What did you do that you are no longer doing. Could it be that you no longer have the passion you once had, because you are no longer doing what you once did? YOU WILL NEVER KNOW THAT YOU FORGOT SOMETHING UNTIL YOU REMEMBER. Did you once come to Sunday school? Is that why you are complacent? Did you once tithe, putting God first. Is this a possible reason you are not feeling blessed? Did you once come to prayer, could this be why it seems that your prayers are not being answered? Church used to be a priority now we miss 2-3 times a month. Youre actually looking for excuses not to go. Could this be why we are spiritually stunted? You used to go to special services, you used to volunteer. You used to bring kids to youth group. You used to set aside time in order to pray and read your bible. We used to have a teachable spirit, let alone a desire for the gifts. Remember 2. Repent. We think that repent is only for sinners, but God is talking to the church, God is talking to all of us. We have left our first love. Were doing the right things for the most part but not with our whole heart. Its time to change our attitude and our heart.... 3. Return (verse 5) and do the things you did at first. A lot of it has to do with getting older. We just cant seem to do all the things we once did. True, but dont just sit there and grow old. What if every Christian did what they used to do when they were first saved??? Our youth groups would be thriving, our special services would require more seating room, our prayers would be answered. If we want a greater excitement in the House of the Lord then we need to fall back and do what we used to do. Its a choice....as for me and my house we will serve the Lord Huron
