They are raffling off this signed guitar from Johnny Winter tomorrow at the Gaslamp for my benefit in Long Beach!! All the more poignant since we just lost him. Its amazing to see how many old friends in La still understand that I need help. Some so called friends have criticized me for asking for more help but I feel like my real friends and fans understand that cancer and chemo are rough to deal with alone. I have great friens and fans, great kids and wonderful family but I struggle weekly to live. I work super hard because someone has to keep paying the bills even though I would rather stay home sometimes cuz I feel so rotten. But music really heals me so I just take it one day at a time and stay grateful. I am thankful to Pink - Michael Arguello for rounding up my homeboys like Kid Ramos, Junior Watson, Jayne Intveld, James Intveld, and so many others to come to support me. I will play a few songs too with my band featuring Laura Chavez, Kurt Kalker, Bobby Arbaca and my son Evan Caleb - Evan Caleb Yearsley. I hear Rae Gordon and Chris Cain may even show up! We will collect some money too, for Lynwood Slim who just had a stroke! Man life is rough, means so much when people rally together! I love my people. I reflect love back to all of you.
