They never studied!.......OK, this rant might get a little technical, but the underwater ping frequency of the lost airliner black box is transmitted at a frequency of 35,000 cycles per second, more or less. This is an in-audible ultrasonic signal....humans cant hear it, dogs might hear it, but you certainly cannot. But CNNs reporting on the Malaysian Airline tragedy does not let science get in its way. Today, CNN has repeatedly replayed audio tapes purported to contain the ping signal for everyone to hear. They even had the designer of the pinger on, with a sample ultrasonic transducer, to demonstrate how it works. The unit clicked on and off at approximately once per second, but there was absolutely no audible sound generated by the device. This did not deter them one iota. They continued to carry on conversations as if they heard the pinger on the audio tapes. Sorry, CNN.....quoting Dan Akroyd admonishing Bill Murray on Ghostbusters....You Never Studied!
